As tension rises among the 2023/2024 service personnel over delayed allowances, the National Service Secretariat (NSS) urges patience, citing the pending budget approval from Parliament.
In an interview with Citi News, Ambrose Entsiwah Junior, Acting Head of Corporate Affairs for NSS, assures that once the budget is approved, salaries, and allowances, including those for service personnel who commenced in November 2023, will be promptly disbursed.
Highlighting the intricacies of the process, Entsiwah emphasizes the importance of the newly introduced metric app to filter out 'unscrupulous individuals' from the system.
He explains that this, coupled with the complexities of reposting requests, contributes to the delay.
The NSS aims to ensure accurate payments by completing all necessary processes, considering factors like subvented or non-subvented status and specific locations.
Stay tuned as NSS navigates the approval process, striving to provide timely allowances for service personnel while maintaining the integrity of the national service system.
