Ghana Mourns The Loss Of Deputy Finance Minister and MP For Ejisu, John Kumah

The nation of Ghana is in a state of shock and grief after the news of the death of Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Kumah, broke out on Wednesday.


According to Citi News, the family of the 45-year-old MP confirmed that he succumbed to a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.


John Kumah, also known as Lawyer John Kumah, was a respected and beloved figure in his constituency of Ejisu, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was praised for his integrity, his passion for job creation, and his vision for the future of the country.


He had an impressive career as a lawyer, a businessman, and a politician. He founded Majak Associates Ltd, a construction company that undertook several projects across Ghana. He also established Aduaprokye Chambers, a law firm that he managed until he was appointed as the CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) by President Akufo Addo in 2017.


Under his leadership, NEIP trained 45,000 start-ups in three years, under the Presidential Business Support Programme, and supported 10,000 beneficiaries, creating thousands of jobs for the youth of Ghana. He had over 17 years of experience in leading and innovating in various fields, demonstrating his creativity, resourcefulness, and dedication to entrepreneurship and youth development.


He was recognized as the most Efficient, Prominent Government Appointee in 2018 and was among President Akufo Addo’s top 20 Most Humble and Respectful Appointees in 2019.


He was a loyal and active member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), working for the party from the grassroots since 1992. He was the founding father of the Young Patriots, a youth political activist and pressure group of NPP. He was also a member of the Communication Team of the NPP.


He was committed to fulfilling his promises to his constituents in Ejisu, securing substantial funding to execute several infrastructure and job creation projects in the area.


His death is a great loss for Ghana, especially for the people of Ejisu, who looked up to him as a role model and a mentor. He will be remembered for his achievements, his generosity, and his legacy. May his soul rest in peace.
