Amidst much fanfare, the government launched its Performance Tracker at GIMPA, Accra, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Presented as a tool to enhance transparency and accountability in infrastructure project implementation nationwide, the tracker promised to revolutionize how project progress is communicated to the public.

However, just two days later, on April 12, the government was forced to acknowledge a glaring flaw: 67 entries included in the Performance Tracker were found to be erroneous. This admission, conveyed via a social media post by the Ministry of Information, underscored the inherent unreliability of the touted transparency initiative.
