As the 2024 general elections approach, Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to Ghanaians: do not be deceived by John Dramani Mahama's rebranding efforts. Ahiagbah cautions voters to remember Mahama's previous tenure as president, which he claims was marked by incompetence and hardship for the nation.
In a pointed social media post on Saturday, May 18, Ahiagbah reminded the public of the reasons why Mahama was a one-term president. "H.E. John Mahama was a one-term president because he was incompetent and brought untold hardship to Ghanaians. As a result of that incompetence, Ghanaians sent him home in 2016. So, let’s not be tricked by Mahama’s 2024 rebranding; he is the same old tried-and-failed Mahama. He was bad news for Ghana then, and he will be bad news for Ghana now," he asserted.
Ahiagbah urged Ghanaians to focus on supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he describes as the beacon of hope for the country's future. He emphasized Bawumia's capabilities and innovative solutions as key to driving Ghana towards progress and prosperity. "Bawumia is the future. Bawumia is capable and would catalyse Ghana’s next chapter with bold solutions," Ahiagbah proclaimed.
The Director of Communications' message highlights the importance of evaluating candidates based on their past performance and potential for future leadership. As the election season heats up, Ahiagbah's remarks serve as a reminder for Ghanaians to critically assess the promises and histories of those vying for their votes.
