Ghana's 5G Revolution: Government and seven others to partner on shared network

The newly formed Next-Gen Infrastructure Company (NGIC), comprising Ascend Digital, K-NET, Radisys, Nokia, Tech Mahindra, AT Ghana, and Telecel Ghana, is poised to revolutionize telecommunications in Ghana. With a 5G license in hand, NGIC is set to roll out 5G services nationwide within the next six months, with plans for expansion across Africa.

However, amidst this collaboration, one notable absence looms large: MTN Ghana. Despite being the leading telco in Ghana, MTN is missing from the shared 5G infrastructure initiative. While discussions between MTN and the government continue, the focus remains on ensuring equitable access to broadband for all Ghanaians.
